After attending the esteemed Roberto Venn School of Luthiery, Raymond Kraut furthered his education by moving to Oakland, California to study as an apprentice under the renowned Master Luthier Ervin Somogyi. Through the twenty-four month apprenticeship, Somogyi introduced Raymond to the principal elements of voicing and designing a guitar to reach its fullest potential. Utilizing his mentor’s teachings, Raymond has developed a design aesthetic and voicing that reflects the quality of his luthiery education.
