While studying music at Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington, Jeff Traugott became fascinated with the art of lutherie. He moved to Santa Cruz, California, and opened a small music store catering to acoustic string players in 1984.
He began working for the Santa Cruz Guitar Co. in 1986 and remained there until 1991. At that time he decided to open his own shop, which is located in an old industrial complex housing a diverse community of artisans and craftspeople. From this humble location, Mr. Traugott has generated a global reputation.
Jeff builds about 12 guitars per year which allows him to focus on tone, playability and the highest quality craftsmanship.
